Preparation Method :

  • Put the dried soybeans in a bowl and cover with cold water. Set them aside to soak for at least 3 hours.
  • Drain the beans, put them in a saucepan and cover with fresh water. Bring to a boil and cook for 10 minutes. Drain and set the beans aside.
  • Combine the salt, sugar, coconut milk, grated coconut and the soybeans in a saucepan over medium heat and gently cook until the beans are soft, stirring constantly.
  • Add the beaten eggs and pour the mixture into a round mold.
  • Preheat a steamer, and steam the cake for 20 minutes. Set aside to cool before serving.


  • 150 grams dried yellow soy-beans
  • Pinch of salt
  • 100 grams palm sugar or dark brown sugar
  • 250 ml coconut milk
  • 50 grams freshly grated or dried unsweetened coconut
  • 4 eggs, lightly beaten
