Preparation Method :

  • Heat a wok or skillet over medium heat and add the rice. Stir the rice constantly, until it is golden brown.
  • Remove the toasted rice from the wok and pound it in a mortar or grind it coarsely in a food processor.
  • Heat the oil in the wok over medium-high heat and stir-fry the pork, garlic, shallots and lemongrass until the meat starts to brown.
  • Add the bean sprouts and the toasted rice. Cook for 1 minute then add the fish sauce, sugar, kaffir lime leaves and the herbs. Stir-fry 1 minute more, then serve.



  • 150 grams uncooked jasmine rice
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 300 grams ground pork
  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 2 small red shallots, peeled and chopped
  • 3 stalks lemongrass, sliced
  • 150 grams bean sprouts
  • 3 tablespoons fish sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 5 kaffir lime leaves, thinly sliced
  • 1 bunch mint leaves
  • 1 bunch coriander leaves
  • 1 bunch mint leaves
