Preparation Method :

  • Heat the oil in a wok or skillet and stir-fry the beef, garlic and shallots until the meat starts to brown. Add the water spinach and stir-fry for 1 minute.
  • Add the soy sauce and sugar and mix well. Cook until the sauce has reduced slightly and serve.


  • 3 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 400 grams boneless beef, sliced against the grain into thin strips
  • 2 cloves garlic, peeled and chopped
  • 3 small red shallots, peeled and chopped
  • 250 grams water spinach, cut into short lengths
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon palm sugar or dark brown sugar
