Preparation Method :

  • Combine apricots, dates, ginger, pecans, orange zest and liqueur. Roll a tablespoon of filling in hands until 2.5 x 0.8 cm diameter.
  • Place filling across wonton wrapper. Moisten edges with water. Roll up to seal, twisting ends.
  • Fry bon bons in oil to cover until crisp. Drain well.
  • Dust with icing sugar and serve with Chinese tea.


  • 200 grams dried apricots, finely chopped
  • 200 grams dates, finely chopped
  • 100 grams crystallized ginger, finely chopped
  • 150 grams pecan nuts or cashews, chopped
  • 3 teaspoon chopped orange zest
  • 5 teaspoon orange liqueur or orange juice
  • 300 grams wonton skins
  • Cooking oil, for frying
  • Icing sugar
