TOFU WITH (BELL) PEPPERS

Preparation Method :

  • Using a sharp knife, cut the tofu (bean curd) into bite-sized pieces. Place the tofu (bean curd) in a shallow non-metallic dish.
  • Mix together the garlic, soy sauce and sweet chili sauce and drizzle over the tofu (bean curd).
  • Toss well to coat and leave to marinate for about 20 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, heat the sunflower oil in a large preheated wok.
  • Add the onion to the wok and stir-fry over a high heat until brown and crispy.
  • Remove the onion with a slotted spoon and leave to drain on absorbent kitchen paper (paper towels).
  • Add the tofu (bean curd) to the hot oil and stir-fry for about 5 minutes.
  • Remove all but 1 tablespoon of the sunflower oil from the wok. Add the (bell) pepper to the wok and stir-fry for 2 - 3 minutes, or until softened.
  • Return the tofu (bean curd) and onions to the wok and heat through, stirring occasionally.
  • Drizzle with sesame oil. Transfer to serving plates and serve immediately. 

INGREDIENTS

  • 500 grams tofu (bean curd)
  • 4 cloves garlics, crushed
  • 6 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
  • 10 tablespoons Cooking oil
  • 2 onions, sliced
  • 2 green (bell) pepper, deseeded and diced
  • 2 tablespoons Sesame oil
