Preparation Method :

  • Remove fat from meat and slice thinly across the grain. Arrange meat, vegetables and noodles attractively on a large serving platter.
  • Heat an electric wok or casserole on a portable heating unit at the table. Bring stock to the boil.
  • Using small wire baskets, guests select and cook their own food in boiling stock.
  • At end of the meal, remaining vegetables, meat and noodles are added to stock and served as a soup.


  • 1 kg lamb or rump steak
  • 4 onions cut in wedges
  • 2 bunch shallots, sliced
  • 250 grams snow peas
  • 250 grams Chinese cabbage, sliced
  • 250 grams bean sprouts
  • 1 red capsicum cut in wedges
  • 250 grams bean curd
  • 250 grams egg noodles, cooked
  • 2 quantity meat stock
