Preparation Method :

  • Cut quail into half by cutting through breast lengthwise. Drop quail into pan of boiling water, boil for about 1 - 2 minutes; drain.
  • 2Add quail to the soy sauce, sherry, five spice powder and ginger; mix well, cover, marinate for at least 1 hour, turning occasionally.
  • Remove quail from marinade, brush thoroughly with honey. Place quail over wire rack, dry for 30 minutes.
  • Barbecue quail over low heat, turning frequently and basting with oil, for about 15 minutes.

  • 3 tablespoons dark soy sauce 
  • 2 teaspoons dry sherry 
  • ¼ teaspoon five spice powder
  • ½ teaspoon grated fresh ginger 
  • 2 tablespoons honey oil
