Preparation Method :

  • Cut fish fillets in half lengthways. Remove any bones. Cut diagonally into strips. Dust with some corn flour just before frying.
  • Sieve seasoned corn flour and plain flour into a basin. Blend in water and egg to form batter. Strain and set aside.
  • Heat oil with ginger in a wok. When ginger turns golden remove from oil.
  • Shake excess flour from fish. Dip into batter. Fry in small batches until golden.
  • Drain well on absorbent kitchen paper. Keep warm on serving plate.
  • Heat remaining oil, blend in honey. When hot pour over fish and sprinkle with sesame seeds.


  • 1 kg white fish fillets
  • 4 tablespoons corn flour seasoned with 
  • Salt and pepper
  • 200 grams plain flour
  • 500 ml cold water
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 500 ml Cooking oil
  • 4 slices fresh ginger root
  • 2 tablespoons Cooking oil
  • 4 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds
