Preparation Method :

  • Remove fat and sinew from beef; slice beef thinly, then cut into fine shreds. Combine beef with oil, water and corn flour. Cover, marinate 20 - 30 minutes.
  • Slice carrot thinly, cut into fine strips. Heat oil for deep frying in wok, add carrot, and cook until lightly browned, remove from wok, reserve.
  • Reheat oil, add meat, cook a few minutes or until tender, stirring gently to separate meat; drain.
  • Heat oil again. Sprinkle extra corn flour evenly over beef. Deep fry beef again in hot oil until golden brown; drain.
  • Add to Sauce with reserved carrot, reheat thoroughly be fore serving immediately.
  • Sauce: Heat oil in wok or a pan .Add in all the ingredients, bring to boil, stir in beef and carrot.


  • 500 grams beef eye fillet
  • 2 teaspoons Cooking oil
  • 2 tablespoons water 
  • 1 large carrot
  • 2 tablespoons corn flour
  • Cooking oil for deep frying


  • 1 tablespoon Cooking oil
  • 1 green shallot, sliced
  • 1 clove garlic, sliced
  • ¼ teaspoon chopped fresh chilli
  • 3 teaspoons white vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons dry sherry
  • 2 teaspoons dark soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • ½ teaspoon Sesame oil
