Preparation Method :

  • In a large bowl combine grated ginger, soy sauce and corn flour.
  • Add meat and mix well. Allow to marinate for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Drain mushrooms, remove stems and discard. Slice mushroom caps.
  • Remove meat from marinade and reserve. Heat oil in a wok over moderate heat.
  • Add ginger and stir-fry for 3 minutes. Add meat, bamboo shoots and mushrooms and stir-fry until meat is cooked.
  • Add marinade and heat through.
  • Serve on a bed of rice or boiled noodles.


  • 2 teaspoons grated fresh ginger root
  • 150 ml soy sauce
  • 4 teaspoons corn flour
  • 1 kg rump steak, trimmed and thinly sliced across the grain
  • 8 Chinese mushrooms, soaked in warm water 20 minutes
  • 100 ml Cooking oil
  • Piece fresh gingerroot, shredded
  • 250 grams canned bamboo shoots, drained and diced
