Preparation Method :

  • Beat egg lightly with salt, sugar, ajinomoto, sesame seed oil, pepper and cornflour.
  • Add prawns to this mixture, stir and leave to marinate for 30 minutes.
  • Peel half onion and cut into wafer thin slices.
  • To prepare the sauce, heat 3 tablespoon oil in a wok and stir fry the onion. Add lemon juice, salt and sugar. Cook over high heat to reduce a little.
  • Mix cornflour with very little water and stir into the sauce to thicken. Keep sauce aside.
  • Heat plenty of oil in wok. Drain off excess marinade from the prawns and fry them to golden brown.
  • Drain well and place on paper towel.
  • Slice lemon very thinly into rounds. Add these to the piping hot sauce with prawns. Stir to mix well and serve at once.


  • 12 jumbo prawns - shelled & deveined
  • 1 lemon
  • Cooking oil for frying

  • 50 grams cornflour


  • 1 medium sized onion
  • 50 ml Cooking oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2½ tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1½ tablespoons corn flour
