Preparation Method :

  • Boil eggs for 10 minutes until hard boiled.
  • Drain and cool at once by placing in iced water.
  • Tap each egg with the back of a spoon until cracks appear all over.
  • Take enough water in a pan so that the eggs are covered with water.
  • Keep the pan on fire and add tea leaves, cinnamon, stir anise and soya sauce.
  • Simmer gently on low flame for at least ½ hour. Allow to cool and shell before serving. Serve along with chilli sauce.


  • 6 - 8 eggs
  • 3 tablespoons tea leaves
  • 1" cinnamon stick
  • 3 star anise
  • 3 tablespoons soya sauce
