Preparation Method :

  • Remove and discard mushroom stems. Combine the pork with soy sauce, sugar and corn flour, stir in crab and bamboo shoots.
  • Place the filling into the cavity of mushrooms. Coat mushrooms with flour, dip in batter.
  • Deep fry mushrooms, a few at a time, in hot oil for about 5 minutes or until mushrooms are cooked through and golden brown.
  • Batter: Sift dry ingredients into bowl, make a well in centre, gradually stir in milk and water, mix to a smooth batter.


  • 250 grams small mushrooms
  • 50 grams pork mince
  • 1 teaspoon dark soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon corn flour
  • 200 grams crab, drained
  • 220 gramsn bamboo shoots, finely chopped
  • Plain flour
  • Cooking oil for deep frying


  • 150 grams plain flour
  • 150 grams corn flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 100 ml milk
  • 100 ml water
