Preparation Method :

  • Heat the oil and add the onions.
  • Cook the onions on medium heat until the onions changes colour.
  • Add the minced garlic and cook for one minute.
  • Add the flour and cook for another minute.
  • Now add the beef stock and wine and simmer for another 30 minutes.
  • Pour the soup in the soup bowl.
  • Serve with French loaf and garnish with cheese.


  • 1 kg yellow onions (peeled and sliced into rings)
  • 3 tablespoons Cooking oil
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 quarts of beef stock
  • 100 ml of white wine
  • Salt and pepper as per taste
  • Loaf of French bread (cubed and toasted)
  • 100 grams of grated Swiss cheese
