CHETTINAD ONION BAJJI

Preparation Method :

  • Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl with water to smooth and thick batter.
  • Coat the onion slices by dipping in the batter.
  • Heat the oil in a deep frying pan or wok. Fry them in batches over medium heat, till they are golden brown on both sides.
  • Drain bajji on paper towels and serve with any chutney.

INGREDIENTS

  • 200 grams gram flour
  • 50 grams rice flour
  • Salt, to taste
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • ¼ teaspoon asafetida powder
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 2 onion, peeled and finely sliced
  • IDHAYAM MANTRA peanut Oil for deep-frying
