Preparation Method :

  • The Tempering: Put the oil in a skillet over medium heat. When the oil is hot add the tempering ingredients. Then add in the onions and sauté for 1-2 minutes.
  • Stir in the mushrooms and sauté for a few minutes over medium-high heat, till mushrooms are brown and aromatic.
  • Add the cooked rice and blend gently.
  • Sprinkle in black pepper and cumin powder and adjust seasoning with salt. Toss gently to blend.



  • 350 grams sliced mushrooms
  • 150 grams basmati rice, rinsed, soaked, drained and cooked
  • 60 grams finely sliced onions  
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper and cumin powder
  • Salt, to taste
