Preparation Method :

  • Dry roast the sesame seeds in a pan and keep aside.
  • Grind red chillies, garlic, tamarind, Salt and coconut scrapings together in a mixie.
  • Finally grind the fried sesame seeds.
  • Add enough water and mix well.
  • Sesame seed chutney is a good combination for idlies and dhosas.


  • 15 tablespoon coconut
  • 8 red chillies
  • 1 gooseberry sized tamarind
  • 1 garlic
  • 50 grams sesame seeds
  • Salt to taste
