Preparation Method :

  • Place the whole onion with the skin in the Mud ka Chullah for 20 minutes.
  • Remove the onion from the Chula & peel it off.
  • Grind it along with Red Chillies, coconut, salt & tamarind.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds and curry leaves.
  • Once the mustard seeds start spluttering, add the ground onion paste and boil for 2 minutes & serve hot.
  • Irulli Gojju can be eaten with rice, chapatti, dosa and bread.


  • 2 Onions
  • 2 Red chillies
  • 200 grams Coconut,grated
  • 1 tablespoon Cooking oil
  • ½ tablespoon  mustard Seeds 
  • 12 Curry leaves 
  • Salt & tamarind to taste
