Preparation Method :

  • Heat the oil in a saucepan and add the mustard seeds. Allow the seeds to splutter and add the chopped garlic, onions and curry leaves.
  • Lower the flame and saute for 5 minutes, add the turmeric and chilli powders, tomato puree and diced tomatoes. Mix well.
  • Stir in the raisins, brown sugar and malt vinegar and simmer for 1 hour, until thick. Remove from the heat, season and allow it to cool. Store in a glass jar and refrigerate for further use.


  • 2 tablespoon Sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 1½ tablespoon Garlic cloves, chopped
  • 1½ tablespoon Onions, chopped
  • 10 Curry leaves
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Chilli powder
  • 150 grams Tomato puree
  • 1 kg Tomatoes, blanched, peeled and diced
  • 50 grams Raisins
  • 2 tablespoon Brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Malt vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
