Canned mangoes are used here for convenience, but the dish tastes better if made with fresh ones. Choose a variety like the voluptuous Alphonso mango, which is wonderfully fragrant and tastes indescribably delicious.
Serves :

Preparation Method :

  • Drain the canned mango slices and put them in the bowl of a food processor.
  • Add the grated lime rind and the limejuice. Process until the mixture forms a smooth puree. Alternatively, mash the mango slices with a potato masher then press through a sieve (strainer) into a bowl with the back of a wooden spoon. Stir in the lime rind and juice.
  • Pour the cream into a bowl and add the yogurt.
  • Whisk until the mixture is thick and then quickly whisk in the mango mixture.
  • Pour into four tall cups or glasses and chill for 1 - 2 hours.
  • Just before serving, decorate each glass with fresh mango slices, if you like.


  • 400 grams sliced mango
  • Grated rind of 1 lime
  • Juice of ½ lime
  • 150 ml double (heavy) cream
  • 6 tablespoons Greek (US strained plain) yogurt
  • Fresh mango slices, to decorate (optional)
