Preparation Method :

  • Melt jaggery in boiling water and strain to remove scum.
  • Grate coconut.                                       
  • Powder cardamom.                        
  • Soak rice and grind coarsely.             
  • Add banana and jaggery with coarsely ground rice and make into a thick batter.
  • Add coconut pieces and cardamom powder to batter. Prepare in a 'Neiappam' mould vessel with ghee.


  • 1 kg Rice 
  • 500 grams of Jaggery 
  • 4 tablespoons Coconut 
  • 2 teaspoon Cardamom 
  • 4 Bananas 
  • Ghee for frying
