Preparation Method :

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the coconut milk and sugar, and stir till the sugar is completely dissolved.
  • In another bowl, whisk the egg yolks till creamy.
  • Add in the sweetened coconut milk and mix well.
  • Gradually, whisk in all the flour to make a smooth batter.
  • Preheat a grill; grease a 6-inch round deep baking tin with clarified butter and place under the grill.
  • When the clarified butter melts, remove pan from under the grill and pour in enough batter to make a ΒΌ inch thick layer.
  • Return to the grill and cook till the top turns golden. Remove and pour a spoonful of clarified butter over it.
  • When the clarified butter melts, add some more batter and repeat the process till all the batter is used up.
  • Top with clarified butter, grill again and when it melts and the surface turns dark golden, remove and set aside to cool and set.
  • Loosen the sides of the dessert and unmould onto a serving plate. Garnish with slivered almonds, cut into slices and serve warm.


  • 1 liter coconut milk
  • 500 grams sugar
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 500 grams all-purpose flour
  • 400 grams clarified butter 
  • Almond slivers, to garnish
