Preparation Method :

  • Combine the fish fillets with lime juice, pepper cumin powder, chilli powder, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder and salt and leave to marinate for 20 minutes.
  • Heat oil in a kadai.
  • Dredge the marinated fish with flour, dip in a beaten egg, roll in breadcrumbs and deep-fry till golden and crisp. When done, remove and drain on absorbent paper.
  • Serve hot with tartare sauce, ketchup or chutney.


  • 400 grams flaky white fish fillets, cut into 8 slices
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 1 ½ teaspoon black peppercorns, crushed
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  •  ½ teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • IDHAYAM Sesame Oil for shallow-frying
  • 200 grams all-purpose (refined) flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten well
  • 300 grams fresh white breadcrumbs
