Preparation Method :

  • Soak the Rice Ada in boiling water for 30 minutes.
  • Drain the water completely.
  • Rinse the ada in cold water to prevent the ada sticking to each other and keep it aside.
  • Dissolve jaggery in a cup of water and strain it.
  • In a deep-bottomed pan, heat three tablespoons of ghee and fry the ada lightly.
  • Add the jaggery water and cook in medium flame until it thickens.
  • Add the thin coconut milk and cook in low flame for 4-5 minutes. Stir in between.
  • Once it thickens, add the thick coconut milk and switch off the flame.
  • In another pan, heat the remaining ghee and fry the cashew nuts, raisins and coconut pieces separately and add it to the ada pradhaman.
  • Serve hot.


  • 150 grams Rice Ada
  • 500 grams Jaggery
  • 500 ml thin coconut milk
  • 300 ml thick coconut milk
  • 100 grams tiny bits of coconut
  • 50 grams cashew nuts
  • 50 grams raisins
  • 10 grams cardamom powder
  • 50 grams Ghee
