Preparation Method :

  • Drain the cooked chickpeas and set aside.
  • Heat a frying pan with oil, add in the mustard.
  • When it splutters add in the chillies, onion, sauté for about 2-3 minutes.
  • Add in the chickpeas with turmeric powder, adjust seasoning with salt.
  • Finally add in the coconut and curry leaves. Remove from heat and serve hot or warm.


  • 500 grams Chickpeas, rinsed, soaked, drained, cooked but firm to bite
  • 100 grams Onion, finely chopped
  • 100 grams shredded fresh coconut
  • A pinch of Turmeric Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cooking oil
  • ¼ teaspoon Mustard
  • Few Curry leaves
  • Green Chillies, to taste
  • Salt, to taste
