DHAL ROTI

Preparation Method :

  • Filling: Add dhal into a deep pan with jaggery and let this mixture cook over medium heat to thin consistency.
  • Keep stirring over medium heat until mixture become thick. Make sure not to stick the mixture to the bottom of pan.
  • Once mixture become thick, remove the pan from heat. Let this mixture cool down.
  • Sift all purpose flour and wheat flour together. Add water little by little and make very smooth consistency dough.
  • Add Oil and mix well. Knead the dough until it becomes very elastic.
  • Place the dough into a bowl and cover it with lid.
  • Make golf balls of the dough.
  • Grease your fingertips and spread one dough ball gently to a small round disc.
  • Put spoonful of stuffing on it. Spread the dough gently over the stuffing's surface with fingers and cover the stuffing.
  • Roll the Roti on the floured surface. Heat the tawa, place rolled roti and roast on both sides over medium heat. Serve Hot with ghee.

INGREDIENTS

  • 100 grams Wheat Flour
  • 150 grams Chana Dhal, washed, soaked, drained, cooked and strained
  • 150 grams All Purpose Flour
  • 150 grams grated Jaggery
  • 100 ml Cooking Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Cardamom Powder
