MODAKS

Preparation Time :
20 minutes

Cooking Time :
30 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Roast the sesame seeds in a pan and keep aside.
  • Add in the coconut and sugar in a heavy-bottomed pan with milk. Keep on low flame, keep stirring. Remove from heat.
  • Make sure that the mixture should be fairly dry and turn to darker shade.
  • Add the rice flour, little by little with boiled water with few drops of oil to avoid lumps and cover the mixture and let it cool.
  • Knead it well into a smooth dough. Now shape it to balls.
  • Flatten them on a surface to disc. Place the coconut-sugar mix and sesame seeds in it and cover it completely with the dough.
  • Fold the edges tapering to the centre. Now steam-cook the modaks for 
  • 10 - 15 minutes or until done.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 tablespoon IDHAYAM sesame Oil
  • 320 grams Grated Coconut
  • 300 grams Sugar
  • 50 grams Sesame seeds
  • 500 grams Rice Flour
  • 1 litre Boiled water
  • A little Milk
