MULLU MURUKKU

Preparation Method :

  • Mix steamed maida flour with urad dhal powder, butter, salt, asafetida powder, sesame seeds and make a dough by adding small quantity of water.
  • Keep it aside for about half an hour. Fill the murruku press with the dough.
  • Heat the oil in a pan and press the dough onto the oil. Cook till it turns light golden colour.
  • Remove and drain it on a kitchen paper towel. Store it in a dry airtight container.

INGREDIENTS

  • 225 grams Urad dal, dry fried and powdered
  • 50 grams Butter
  • 1.5 kg Maida, steamed for about 5-7 minutes without adding water
  • 25 grams Sesame seeds
  • A Pinch of Asafetida powder                                                                                       
  • Salt to taste
  • IDHAYAM MANTRA peanut Oil for frying
