Preparation Method :

  • Add double the amount of water to that of rice and bring to a boil with salt.
  • Cook on low heat while stirring constantly. When cooked, transfer to a plate.
  • Add the cooked dhal to rice and mix well. Adjust seasoning with salt. Make into small balls.
  • Steam these balls for about 5-7 minutes and serve.


  • 1 kg Rice, washed, soaked, dried and ground like semolina
  • 500 grams Chana Dhal, cooked and drained  
  • Salt as per taste
