Preparation Method :

  • Fry the potatoes till they start changing colour. Cool. Mix in salt and fry till crisp and golden.
  • Mix the spice paste with salt and vinegar and apply on the chicken. Set aside for an hour.
  • Cook the chicken with 1 cup of water in a pan, till tender and dry. Pour in the oil and fry the cooked chicken until red.
  • Add tomatoes and cook till the tomatoes turn tender and gravy thick. Decorate with coriander leaves and serve the chicken with the potatoes.


  • 1 chicken, disjointed
  • 50 ml IDHAYAM sesame oil
  • 3 large tomatoes, peeled and sliced
  • 3 big potatoes, peeled and cut into batons

Ground to Paste

  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 4-6 cloves
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 inch cinnamon stick
  • 10-12 peppercorns
  • 1-inch piece ginger
  • 10-12 flakes garlic
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 2 tablespoon coriander leaves
  • Red chillies, to taste
  • Salt to taste
