Preparation Method :

  • Heat the oil in a skillet and sauté the onions.
  • Add the chicken, water and salt and cook till tender.
  • Grind together the ingredients for the green masala and add to the chicken.
  • Let the masala cook with the chicken till all moisture is evaporated.
  • Add white vinegar and continue to cook till the souring agent is absorbed and the oil comes to the surface.
  • At this point the chicken will attain a dark blackish brown tinge.
  • Remove from heat and serve hot. 


  • 500 grams chicken, cut into pieces
  • 50 ml white vinegar
  • 50 ml sesame oil
  • 2 large onions, sliced
  • Salt to taste

To grind to a paste

  • 1 teaspoon chilli powder
  • 10 green chillies
  • 2 medium bunch coriander
  • 2 small onions
  • 3 teaspoon peppercorns
  • 10 pods of garlic
  • 2" ginger
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
