Preparation Method :

  • Heat the oil, add in the ground paste and fry till brown.
  • Add spice paste and fry till a nice aroma comes out of it.
  • Add prawns and cook till dry.
  • Add tomatoes and salt, cook stirring till the prawns are tender. Cool and store in airtight container.


  • 550 grams prawns, cleaned and washed in vinegar not water

Spice Paste

  • 12 flakes garlic
  • 12 peppercorns  
  • 3-4 green chillies
  • ¼ large bottle of sweet oil
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste

Ground to Paste

  • 550 grams onions
  • 550 grams big tomatoes peeled and sliced
  • 10-12 red chillies
  • 1-inch piece ginger
