Preparation Method :

  • Wash and clean the crabs and boil in a little water for 10 - 15 minutes. Drain and cool.
  • Remove the flesh. Retain four equal size crab shells for filling.
  • Finely chop the onions and tomatoes.
  • Fry chopped onions and tomatoes on a slow flame till very soft.
  • Grind finely all the ingredients with vinegar.
  • Add the masala to the fried tomato and onion. Now add the tomato puree and cook slowly till the mixture is like soft dough.
  • Add the crab flesh and mix it well. Add salt to taste.
  • Fill the mixture in the four crab shells.
  • Serve hot with salad.


  • 1 kg River crab
  • 400 grams Onion
  • 150 grams Tomatoes
  • ½ teaspoon Black pepper corn
  • ½ teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • ½ teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • ½ teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons Garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger
  • 3 tablespoon Vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon Cloves
  • 2 tablespoon Kashmiri chilly
  • 100 ml Tomato puree
  • 100 ml Cooking oil
  • Salt to taste
