Preparation Method :

  • Apply turmeric and salt on fish slices. Heat the oil and fry tomatoes till soft.
  • Add in the remaining ingredients and mix well. Adjust seasoning with salt.
  • Apply the spice paste on the slices of fish and put in a greased ovenware dish.
  • Bake in a moderate oven till cooked. Decorate with coriander leaves.


  • 1 kg fish, cleaned, washed and sliced
  • 250 grams tomatoes, peeled and sliced
  • 2 tablespoon Cooking oil
  • 200 ml thick coconut milk
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • ½ teaspoon sugar
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste

Dry Roasted and ground to Fine Paste

  • 150 grams onions
  • 6-8 flakes garlic
  • 1 tablespoon coriander seeds
  • 100 grams shredded coconut
  • 1-inch piece ginger
  • Red chillies, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 2 teaspoon vinegar
