BATTER FRIED FISH

Preparation Method :

  • Rub the fish completely with salt and marinate it with the garlic, ginger and fresh chillies. Leave this aside in a cool place for half an hour.
  • Whisk the gram flour with the chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt and half a cup of water to make a thick batter of coating consistency.
  • Heat the oil, dip the fish in the batter and slide it gently into the oil. Flip the fish till it turns evenly golden.
  • Remove the fish from the oil with a slotted spoon and drain off on an absorbent paper towel. Serve warm.

INGREDIENTS

  • 500 grams Small mackerels or mullets, washed, cleaned and gutted
  • 145 grams Gram flour
  • 25 grams Chopped garlic
  • 25 grams Chopped ginger
  • 2 tablespoon Chopped fresh chillies
  • 1 tablespoon Chilli powder
  • 1½ teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • IDHAYAM Sesame Oil to deep fry
