Preparation Method :

  • Place some tomato with little water and other spices in a food processor, process to a smooth paste.
  • Heat little oil and fry garlic, then add onion, tomatoes and green chillies and stir fry.
  • Add ground spices and stir fry for about 2 - 3 minutes. Add measured water and allow to boil. Then add fish and cook for 5 minutes. Adjust seasoning with salt and vinegar.


  • 500 grams Shark fish, clean and cut into 2 inch pieces, marinate with salt        
  • ¼ teaspoon Pepper corns
  • 2 Tomato, Chopped        
  • ½ teaspoon Turmeric powder    
  • 1 teaspoon Tamarind    
  • 2 Onion, Chopped    
  • 15 grams Garlic flakes, Chopped
  • 3 Green chillies, Chopped
  • ¼ teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 2 teaspoon kashmiri dry red chillies        
  • ¼ teaspoon Vinegar    
  • 2 grams Cocum

    My favourite dish is Shark Ambot Tik. The picture you have used that is NOT Shark. Shark does not have scales and the Fish you have pictured shows fish skin where the scales have been
