Preparation Method :

  • Grind the grated coconut with tamarind. Add water, chilli powder, chopped ginger, turmeric powder, and cut green chilies.
  • Drop this mixture into the pan and allow to boil. Add teflam, kokum and simmer.
  • When the gravy begins to thicken add the mackerel and adjust seasoning with salt. When done remove from fire.

INGREDIENTS

  • 9 Fresh Mackerel, Clean and cut into 3 pieces. marinate with salt.
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric
  • 10 - 12 Teflam
  • 4 Green chillies, slited
  • 350 ml Water
  • 2 inches Ginger, Roughly chopped
  • 4 dry peels Kokum (dates)
  • 300 grams grated Coconut
  • 2 teaspoons Chilli powder  
  • 1 inch ball Tamarind
  • Salt to taste
