Preparation Method :

  • Mix the first five ingredients together and marinate the prawns with it for 4 minutes. Whisk the egg and flour together in a bowl. Mix well till no lumps remain in the batter.
  • In another flat plate mix the bread crumbs and semolina together.
  • Dip the marinated prawns in the egg batter then roll in the semolina- bread crumb mixture to coat well. Deep fry till golden brown in oil. Garnish with a squeeze of lime and serve with Mint Coriander chutney.


  • 25 king prawns washed deveined
  • Lime wedges for garnish
  • 2 tablespoon minced ginger
  • 2 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 5 green chillies chopped fine
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
  • 2 tablespoon lime juice

For the Semolina batter

  • 250 grams flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 300 grams bread crumbs
  • 300 grams semolina
  • Peanut oil for deep-frying
