Preparation Method :

  • Beat the eggs and mix into the cooled sugar syrup along with the remaining ingredients. Keep on mixing the batter till it is smooth.
  • Grease a deep ovenware dish with ghee when heated pour 1 cup of batter in it. Level the surface and bake in a moderate oven till it is firm.
  • Now pour 1 tablespoon ghee on top and pour another cupful of batter on top. Level the surface and put in the oven again.
  • Bake again till it is firm. Continue in this way till all the batter is used up. Colour the layers differently and have a ribbon cake.


  • 6 egg yolks only
  • 400 ml thick coconut milk
  • 250 grams of sugar, mixed with a cup of water to thick syrup and strained
  • 250 grams of refined flour
  • 75 grams ghee
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon powdered nutmeg
