Preparation Method :

  • Heat the oil and put in half of the cumin seeds. When it starts popping, add the tomatoes and fry till soft.
  • Add in the potatoes, stir fry for about 2-3 minutes.
  • Cover with a cup water, cook till tender and dry. Decorate with fried onions, cashews and raisins.


  • 550 grams medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 50 ml IDHAYAM sesame oil
  • 1 tomato
  • A pinch of sugar
  • 4-5 red chillies
  • ¾ teaspoon ground cumin seeds

Ground to Paste

  • 1 onion
  • 4-5 flakes garlic
  • ½ inch piece ginger
  • Handful of coriander leaves
