Preparation Method :

  • Soak the chilli, coriander and turmeric powders together in a little water. Use just enough water to soak.
  • Heat oil and ghee together, saute the curry leaves onions, garlic, ginger and green chillies.
  • Add the soaked and crushed spices and fry one minute. Add the tomato and cook a few minutes.
  • Finally put in the chicken pieces with salt to taste, stir well and cook covered medium flame. Stir occasionally.
  • If the liquid dries out too early, pour a little boiling water and mix well. Cook till tender, pour the coconut milk; simmer over low flame for five minutes. Serve.


  • 750 grams Chicken pieces
  • 4 Onions, chopped
  • 4 Tomato, quartered
  • 10 Green chillies
  • 1" Ginger
  • 5 cloves Garlic, sliced
  • 250 ml Coconut milk
  • 3 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon Red Chilli Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 3 teaspoon Black Pepper, crushed
  • 6  Cloves, crushed
  • 1" Cinnamon
  • 4 tablespoon Coconut oil
  • 4 tablespoon Ghee
  • 4 springs Curry leaves
  • Salt to taste
