Preparation Method :

  • Moisten the flour with sugar water.
  • Pat the slightly moist flour together, allow to stand an hour.
  • Sieve through a coarse mesh.
  • Bring water to boil in a Puttu Kodam
  • Spoon into the Puttu Kutti a thin layer of grated coconut, followed by a couple of spoons of rice flour. Repeat till the mould is full. Do take care not to press in the flour.
  • Steam ten minutes. Serve hot.



  • 300 grams Coarse fried rice flour           
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar                    
  • 200 grams Grated coconut
