Preparation Method :

  • Combine drumsticks and curry leaves with sufficient water in a pan and cover and cook on medium flame until they are half done.
  • Add the remaining vegetables, turmeric powder, salt and water if required along with drumstick. Cover and cook on low flame for 15 minutes till the vegetables are tender.
  • Meanwhile, grind all the ingredients for spice paste to a smooth, fine paste.
  • Mix the ground paste and add some water when the vegetables become tender. Stir well and cook for 15 minutes until they become semi-dry.
  • Add yoghurt and oil and again boil the curry gradually by stirring continuously.
  • Serve hot with steamed rice.


  • 2 Drumstick pods, cut into finger-length pieces
  • 150 grams Yam, diced
  • 1 Carrot, diced
  • 2 small Brinjals, quartered
  • 1 unripe Banana, diced
  • 1 large Potato, diced
  • ½ teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 100 ml plain Yoghurt, whisked
  • 3 teaspoons IDHAYAM Sesame oil
  • 1 sprig of fresh Curry leaves
  • Salt to taste

For Spice Paste:

  • 4 tablespoons Grated fresh Coconut
  • ½ teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 3 Green Chilies
  • ¼ teaspoon Black Peppercorns
