Preparation Method :

  • Grind the chilli, cumin seeds and button onion coarsely. Crush the grated coconut. Mix it all together.
  • Cook the shredded leaves in ½ cup of boiling water with the pan covered with a lid or steam the shredded leaves in a steam cooker.
  • Fry mustard and rice in hot oil. Add onion and chilli pieces and saute. Then add in the ground ingredients and fry for a little while.
  • Toss in the leaves and add enough salt to taste. Gently stir till the water is absorbed. Serve hot.


  • 600 grams finely shredded bean leaves or pumpkin leaves 
  • 1 dry chilli
  • ½ teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 2 button onions
  • 120 grams grated coconut


  • 2 teaspoon rice
  • 2 tablespoon large onion chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Cooking oil
  • ½ teaspoon mustard
  • 1 dry chilli broken 
  • Salt to taste
