Preparation Method :

  • Add mustard in hot oil, when it splutters add black gram and fry till it becomes golden brown.
  • Add onion, green chilli and curry leaves, sauté for a minute. Add grated coconut and stir for a few minutes.
  • Finally toss in the boiled shredded cabbage and add salt to taste. Gently saute till water is all absorbed.


  • 150 grams finely shredded cabbage - par boiled
  • 50 grams large onion finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoon Cooking oil
  • 75 grams finely grated coconut
  • ½ teaspoon mustard
  • 2 teaspoon blackgram dhal
  • 2 teaspoon green chillies sliced round
  • Salt to taste
  • A few curry leaves
