Preparation Method :

  • Crush cumin seeds, garlic, dry chilli seeds and turmeric with the grated coconut.
  • Cook the drumstick pieces in ½ cup of boiling water with the pan covered.
  • Add the ground masala with the drumsticks, when the colour changes add the salt. Stir gently without breaking the pieces.
  • Fry the seasoning in hot oil and add the prepared thoren. Stir gently. When all the water is absorbed remove from fire.


  • 75 grams grated coconut 
  • ½ teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 2 garlic flakes
  • 30 - 36 pieces - drumstick, remove the outer skin 
  • ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder 
  • ½ teaspoon dry chilli seeds 
  • Salt to taste


  • 1 tablespoon Cooking oil
  • 2 tablespoon large onion finely chopped 
  • 2 dry red chillies each cut into small pieces
  • 1½ teaspoon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon rice
