Preparation Method :

  • Cook spinach in a pan with little water and salt. When steam comes add in the green chilli, crushed and grounded ingredients.
  • Cover and cook until the steam comes. Open and stir gently, allow it to get dry.
  • Fry mustard and rice in hot oil. When it splutters add onion and sauté. Add dry chili pieces and curry leaves.
  • When all the ingredients are fried add the prepared spinach. Stir gently till all the water is absorbed. Serve hot.


  • Small bunch of spinach finely chopped 
  • ½ teaspoon green chili chopped
  • 75 grams grated coconut, crushed
  • 3 garlic flakes, ground 
  • 2-3 button onion, ground
  • ½ teaspoon seeds from dry chilli, ground
  • Salt to taste


  • 1 tablespoon Cooking oil
  • ½ teaspoon mustard 
  • 1 teaspoon rice
  • 1 button onion sliced in rounds
  • 1 dry red chilli split into 2
  • A few curry leaves
