Preparation Method :

  • Cook the cut jackfruit seed in water.
  • Add turmeric and salt for 7 minutes.
  • Add the mango pieces and cook for 7 more minutes.
  • Grind the coconuts, chillies, shallots and turmeric powder with water into a fine paste in a blender for 10 minutes.
  • Add the ground coconut paste and water to the cooked jackfruit and mango.
  • Mix well and heat to the boiling point. Remove from fire.
  • Heat oil add mustard, when it crackles add the onions and curry leaves, saute till onions turn brown. Add the broken dried chillies and saute for 1 minute.
  • Add this tempering to the gravy and mix well. Serve hot.


For the gravy

  • 250 grams Mango (raw)
  • 300 grams Jackfruit seed, cleaned
  • 200 grams Grated coconut Green chillies Shallots
  • 25 grams Turmeric powder
  • 2 teaspoon Salt

For tempering

  • 30 grams Onions
  • 4 sprigs Curry leaves
  • 3 Red chillies
  • 2 teaspoon Mustard
  • 3 tablespoons Sesame Oil
  • 3 teaspoon Salt
