CHENA VATTICHU WARATHATHU (YAM SAVOURY CRISP)

Preparation Method :

  • Grind mustard, button onions with chili powder, pepper, garlic, ginger, cumin seeds, fenugreek, turmeric, salt and rice flour.
  • Smear the yam slices with the ground paste. Keep it aside for a long time.
  • Place a heavy bottomed skillet on the fire.
  • Pour a little coconut oil and shallow fry the yam in batches. Serve hot.

INGREDIENTS

  • 500 grams yam sliced into squares (cooked in steam)
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 50 grams button onions
  • ½ teaspoon pepper powder
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • 9 garlic flakes
  • 1 teaspoon ginger chopped 
  • ½ teaspoon cumin seeds
  • ½ teaspoon rice flour 
  • 1½ teaspoon fenugreek 
  • Pinch of turmeric 
  • Salt to taste
