Preparation Method :

  • Grind chilli powder, turmeric powder, button onions and cumin seeds. Crush the grated coconut and mix all together.
  • Place the ground masala in the middle of the mashed tapioca and sprinkle salt.
  • Cover and cook over low fire till the masala is done and the steam comes up. Mix well.
  • Heat the oil. Fry mustard, onion, curry leaves, dry chillies and grated coconut.
  • When the aroma comes up remove from heat. Add it to the prepared tapioca and mix well.


  • 1 kg, tapioca, peeled, diced, cooked, drained and mashed 
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ teaspoon chilli powder 
  • ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 120 grams grated coconut
  • 4 button onions
  • 1 pinch cumin seeds


  • 2 tablespoon Cooking oil
  • ½ teaspoon mustard
  • 2 tablespoon onions chopped 
  • A few curry leaves
  • 3 dry chillies each halved 
  • 3 tablespoon grated coconut
